The following is an except from an email send to me by a good friend and Sahaja Yogini Anna Chicos. Anna was recently added to this site (see the recent post below):

I spent much of the second day of Navaratri contemplating how art could be used as a weapon to open the heart. I remembered a poem I had written months before when I had arrived in England and thought I would make a card and write it down to offer to Shri Mataji in the evening. I was not expecting to read it to Her but when I entered the room She seemed to be staring straight at me and just drew me to Her. I went to Her feet and said “Shri Mataji I have written a poem. May I read it to you?” and Sir CP said “Yes , you may.” He took the card from my hands and held it in front of Her, She looked deeply at me with Her shining black diamond like eyes as I recited the following;

England
The Holy Virgin still sleeps
Somewhere She groans and sighs
with the distant memory
of Her ancient glory

Oh you artists of Albion
you are the ones charged with awakening Her
So She shall be again as
She once was
red golden
all light
all love

and then Sir CP said softly and with firm conviction, almost like a promise,

“And it shall be so”

and before anyone says ‘but I’m not an artist’, remember these words of William Blake,

“An artist is not a special kind of man, but rather man is a special kind of artist”

Ceramics to Anna Chicos

Ceramicist Anna Chicos and Photographer Matthew Cooper are the latest additions to our site. Please check out their pages.

One of our Artists – Meredith Cooper will be having an exhibition of her latest oil paintings along with two other Blue Mountains artists. Entitled “Landscape Transfiguration”, the exhibition will be on from the 30th October – 15th November 2009 at Braemar Gallery, 104 Macquarie Rd, Springwood NSW, Australia. Opening – 31st of October between 2-4pm.

I wish to share with the Sahaj world a drawing of a “vision” i’ve seen during my first Sahaja Yoga Meditation. Since that day I knew that it’s a very important message, and I wanted to spread it. I called it “The Sun Door” and today (after 4 months of meditation and meeting with Sahaj also in Cabella) I can call it “The Sahasrara Door”.

Just a quick post to let everybody know that this website is always open to new artists. Actually we are very keen to have as many Sahaj artists from all over the world involved in the website.

If you would like to have a page on this site, there is no charge at all – just send images around 1 mb per image and a CV or Artists statement if you have one.

So what’s the first step? Just send a message expressing your interest through the contact page (click here) of this website. We look forward to hearing from you all, we would love to hear Sahaj artists from every country.

For the artists that already have a page, please feel free to send us information about your latest exhibitions or just interesting quotes or art articles you have collected. Also feel free to send us images of your new work so we can update your page. And Please – if you know any other artists please let them know about the site.

Lastly, some good news – we hope to have a forum up and running on this website in the next few weeks so that we can all communicate with one another.

Several years ago while attending a Sahaja Yoga Birthday Puja seminar in India, I came across a Russian yogini selling her paintings.

What a nice surprise!  And she was selling them very cheap. I was that taken that I  bought as many of them as i could with the money I had in my kurta pocket.

One of these works now hangs on my bedroom wall – a beautiful painting done in oil paint on cardboard, depicting a snowy winter scene – similar to the one pictured above. Within the cold looking forest – a fire is burning. It’s such a profound and poetic image! The paint work and colours are also great. I get a lot out of it.
Unfortunately I did not get any of the artists contact details. Can anyone out there identify the artist by the signature on the bottom right-hand corner of the painting above? It would be great to have her work on this site. Would any Russian speakers be so kind as to translate this name to English for me? Or if anyone does know her please ask her to contact us through this website’s ‘contact’ page.
